Stadiul cercetărilor arheologice în situl medival timpuriu de la Zalău "Palvar" (campaniile din 1989, 2000-2002)

Subiect: THE STAGE OF THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESEARCH IN THE EARLY MEDIEVAL SITE FROM ZALAU "PALVAR" The first research undertaken in this site were made in 1989, as the systematization works at the shooting ground affected several inhumation tombs, being thus required the archaeological intervention (the excavations were coordinated by I. Bajusz, from the History and Art Museum, Zalău). The investigations were reopened in 2000 and continued during the successive years 2001-2002 (Bacuet-Crisan 2001, p. 274; Bacuet-Crisan 2002, p. 338-339). At this point of the study, based on the funerary inventory and the features of the elements of funerary rite and ritual, we conclude that the cemetery from Zalău dates from the first half of the Xth century (towards its midst). The analogies related to the artefacts discovered in the settlement point to the time sequence marked by the end of the IXth century and the beginning of the Xth, or the first decades of the latter one.
