Restaurarea unui costum de curte de secol XVIII

  • Subiect: The paper presents the restoration of a very beautiful costume (1733), discovered in Hodod (Satu Mare County), in a tomb. The costume consists of: a corset, 2 veils, small pieces of lace, a skirt and a belt. The first and the most important thing were to stabilize and preserve the materials. The restoration work lasted several years. Each piece of the costume was restored separately depending on the materials and their conservation status. The most beautiful piece is the corset this is made of natural silk and decorated with silver thread lace. The skirt is made of wool and is decorated with a cotton lace. The costume is exposed in the permanent exhibition of the Satu Mare County museum. Adela Dobrescu.
