  • Subiect: Princess Hélène Bibesco gave Queen Elisabeth of Romania, her lifelong friend, the Edelweiss vase which had been made for her by Emile Gallé. This so delighted the Queen that she ordered other objects from the French glass-maker to give to members of her German and Dutch families. This article reproduces hitherto unpublished correspondence between Gallé, Queen Elisabeth and Princess Bibesco concerning these commissions.
