Mănăstirea Argeş în secolul al XVII-lea. Podgoriile şi vinăriciul

  • Subiect: Arges Monastery during the 17th Century the Vineyard and the Wine Share From its consecration in 1517, Arges Monastery - funded by Prince Neagoe Basarab (1512-1521) was given several properties as donations, among which the vineyards were considered to play an important role. Another source of income came from the privilege granted by the royal documents to the monastery, consisting of the wine share collection, vinăriciul, from several villages. In the 17th century, the properties and privileges were reconfirmed by new royal documents. At the same time, the monastery becomes the owner of several vineyard lands, by purchase or donation. The old documents mention the vineyards from Şuhaşul hills, from Goleşti, Ştefăneşti, Stâlpeni, from Alimăneşti and Măicăneşti hills etc. A significant moment in the history of the monastery consisted in its reconstruction, around year 1640, ordered and funded by the pious Prince Matei Basarab (1632-1654).
