Furtul moaştelor Sfântului Dumitru - 1918

  • Subiect: The Theft of Saint Demetrius Relics - 1918 The theft of Saint Demetrius relies on an event which troubled the population of Bucharest during the First World War. A group of Bulgarians soldiers broke the doar of Metropolitan Church and they stole the relics of Saint Demetrius, which the citizens from Bucharest considered their protector. Mackensen intervened and the re/ies were recovered. The car which transported the relics was defected near Călugăreni on the road to Bulgaria. The remains of Saint Demetrius were brought the same day at Metropolitan Church. They were encountered by lots of people who expected the Saint Demetrius humbly, in the knee. The Saint has made for them one more miracle. The protector of Bucharest was again at his home.
