Case şi inscripţii din Răşinari, sec. XVIII-XIX (II)

  • Subiect: Houses and inscriptions from Răşinari, 18th -19th centuries (II) The second part of the article, dedicated to Răşinari, the largest commune in the region of Mărginimea Sibiului, presents further houses and inscriptions from the 19th century. Such are: the House of the Village Judge (1846), the Village House and Hall (1847, 1850), the renovated house (1861) where explorer Ilarie Mitrea (1842-1904) was born, the house (before 20 March 1881) where poet Octavian Goga (1881-1938) was born. The final remarks highlight the particular building material used in Răşinari (the local river stone), which conserves until today the impressive image of this „Village of Townsmen” (Städterdorf), as the Saxon neighbours called Răşinari.
