De la "Alfa" la Galeriile "Lascăr Vorel"

  • Subiect: Taken into consideration the fact that art, through all its means of expression, is the one which best reflects a certain time period, the necessity of the art galleries within the life of a town cannot be questioned. Knowing that the art museum as an institution represents the depository of the artistic values that the time consecrates, the art gallery states in real time the pulse of the movements, attitudes and artistic tendencies of all kind. The history of the „Lascăr Vorel” Art Gallery is closely related to the few artistic groups which kept the headlines over the decades. At the beginning of the ‘80s the „Alfa” Art Gallery, as it was named at that time, represented a property of the Youths Theatre form Piatra-Neamţ. The Art Gallery continued its activity under this form until the beginning of the ’90s, when entering under the administration of the Neamţ County Museums Complex, it was expanded and modernized. It was opened in May 1993, under the new name the „Lascăr Vorel Art Galleries”. Developed as a main attraction within the list of the Neamţ County Museums Complex objectives the “Lascăr Vorel” Art Galleries gained their well-deserved place in the conscience of the local audience, as well as of the occasional tourists, who rediscover here, by completing the exhibition circuit offered by the Art Museum, a clear image of the contemporary art from Neamţ and not only.
